Update on C-470 Expansion
Posted on Feb 23rd, 2016

Hello Neighbors:  Recently the HRNC Board of Directors along with the full support of the Executive Committee members has elected to file a law suit in federal court against CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration.  Our attorney for the HRNC believes that CDOT has violated federal environmental law because they did not allow the public to review and comment on the new long-term noise data that they added at the 11th hour in the recent Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) published on November 20, 2015.
We maintain our position that the CDOT noise model is flawed because the actual CDOT and HRNC long-term noise readings are higher now than the computer model predicts both today and after C-470 is doubled to eight lanes in front of our neighborhoods.
During the past year we have tried to resolve our dispute with CDOT without having to resort to legal action.  Now we feel it is in the best interest of our health, welfare, quality of life, and property values to proceed with the court action and judicial review by a federal judge.  As we proceed, I will inform you of our progress.
Again, thank you for your continued support of the HRNC.  United we can succeed!
Respectfully, Carter Sales
